Mid-Senior Agile Developer- Downtown NYC

As part of a small IT team working directly for a financial division of the government, you will work closely with the group’s Architect, to plan, build, and deploy an access control system to meet the evolving access control requirements of the group’s 30+ applications in an emerging Agile environment. This system will feature workflow, escalation and notification features. You should be able to deliver all phases of the project lifecycle.

This is a great position for someone interested in finance, a 35 hour work week, and tuition reimbursement.

We are looking for you if you have: • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field • 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development and technical production application support • In-depth knowledge of J2EE, XML, and Web Services • Experience with the following development-related technology: UNIX (Solaris), MS Windows server, Oracle, and UNIX/Windows integration • Experience with or interest in creating an Agile environment • The desire to do Test Driven Development, Paired Programming, and 2 week iterations • Demonstrable resourcefulness and creativity in problem-solving • Excellent customer service skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge of Spring, Hibernate, RSA, Oracle 10i, XML, UML is preferred

As a J2EE Developer you will: • Plan, build and deploy an access control system within the departmental and system-wide constraints • Work with the Architect and Staff Coordinator to implement release management standards for the project and for the group such as source code control, requirements and defect tracking, ,and QA certification • Be an Agile/XP advocate • Work closely with the Markets Group, outside vendors, FRIT and internal government staff to ensure a smooth integration of resources • Deploy systems into production one weekend every other month • Update management on project status and measure of success
